I hope to be doing a little more development of my own in 2022. Stay tuned! #
I went through the entire SwiftUI tutorial by Apple. I was very impressed with it. I plan to make my Missing Artwork application use SwiftUI as my learning project.
I've also updated the program that creates this site to use JDK 18. It appears that java finalizers are finally going to be deprecated. I'd no idea that there was a new language feature added back in JDK 8 to remove the requirement to use the finally
keyword to close the files.
We went to Bend, Oregon for a few days this week. What a beautiful place. #
I've been learning and creating more SwiftUI code. It's super interesting. It twists and stretches my brain in a good way. I've never been a UI programmer, so I appreciate what I can accomplish so simply. You can look at the code here, but to run the program you'd need to be an Apple Developer. Perhaps I'll publish it someday.
Summer is finally here. We've had the longest Winter/Spring in my Oregon experience yet.
I've found old videos from when I used my Flip camera often. I was able to convert the files all to something that would play back today. It's funny to look at the old stuff.
We drove by this storefront a few weeks ago; it must have been before it opened. It sure was curious, but I didn't realize it was going to be a retail store for psychedelics. I can remember being asked to sign the ballot petition what seemed like 100s of times prior to this vote. #
